If I were to pick a Tarot card that represents the Winter Solstice, I would pick to; The Sun & The Moon cards.

Today marks the longest night of the year. The moon is out longer than any other night. The Moon card represents Intuition. Listening to what your mind, body, and soul needs. Some meditation is good for this. Sit stull for at least 20 minutes today. Ask your mind, your body, and your soul separately what it needs this winter. How can you nurture and grow? Your intuition will tell you. The solstice powers will help to give you the clarity that you need.

Not only does this day mark the longest night of the year, but it celebrates the birth of the sun. Every day from this night on the sun is out a little more, by 21 seconds. I know this doesn't seem like much, but it adds up. That's 861 seconds from tomorrow until January 31st. That is 14 minutes and 35 seconds of extra sunlight by then. When it is cold and dark every da, you will take that extra 21 seconds of sun and cherish it.
The Sun card reflects passion, vitality, happiness and self confidence. Doesn't all of that sound amazing? It wants you to delve into all these successful things bringing it forth with you into the new year. Don't let the ho hum of winter get to you. Celebrate what it has to offer. Cozy days in, with a mug of tea and your favorite movie, a day of tobogganing with the kids, building a snowman, a date night hike to stargaze in the clear winter skies, hosting a game night with friends full of laughter. Have fun, enjoy what life has to offer. Honor the Sun.
